Reclining Creeper Chair

A Creeper Chair   Designed to Recline

A Solution for Mechanics with Low-Mobility

For mechanics, working on the undercarriage can range from painful to impossible. Oftentimes the most difficult part of the process is laying down onto a creeper and climbing off.

A creeper designed to assist in getting on and off by lifting the user to around a sitting height automatically would reduce work strain and improve the quality of life for those with chronic back pain.

Unlike traditional creepers, the Mechanical Creeper Chair utilizes linear actuators and a custom frame to give the user the ability to move from a seated to a laying-down position.

For this project, I designed and assembled a prototype of the Mechanical Creeper Chair using a SolidWorks, a laser cutter, and dowels secured by steel wire.
